Zimbabwe's president sacks more cabinet members

Barely a month, after sacking Vice President, Joice Mujuru, President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has relieved two more cabinet members of their duties.

Mugabe also sacked five deputy ministers believed to be loyal to Mujuru in what is being called a political purge.

The affected ministers are the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Flora Bhuka, and the Minister of State in the Vice President's office, Sylvester Nguni.

Mugabe stated via a statement on Sunday, December 21, that the duo had been sacked along with five deputies for performing below the expected standard.

The 90-year-old president also announced that the country's civil servants will not get annual holiday bonuses.

Mugabe sacked Mujuru after he branded her a witch and accused her of plotting to unseat him .
